What our students say about us:

“I have always thought learning AutoCAD will be difficult, and it will take a long time to master it. So I never got started. But I was wrong. Cad Design Centre made the learning of AutoCAD very easy to understand for me, even at my age” Ramli Baharudin, ASJ Consulting Sdn Bhd

“My office had Microsoft project, and very few of our employees knew how to use it. As I frequently depended on others to plan and enter the data for the project, I decided to learn it myself. In 2 days, Cad Design Centre thought the simple way to manage projects with Microsoft Project, and I am very happy with my new learning. I could quickly use what I learnt, in my office” – Mr C.H. Cad Design Centre - up skilling Engineering_25

CAD Training to upskill workforce for the Telco market

Recent training with Ace Training, to up skill graduates from various Universities in Malaysia. Here they get an intensive one month training, on various Telco related subjects and know hows, including learning CAD, before they get absorbed into the job market. This way, they would be able to start performing in their job from day one, without going through extensive trainings by their future employers.

Recent class in MDEC for students and parents

Had fun teaching a group of very interested students and parents in MDEC  (Multimedia Development Corporation).  Young ones as young as 6 and with their parents came, and enjoyed the class. The class was done as a collaboration between MDEC, Dreamcatcher  together with CAD Design Centre and IMakerzone. It is an initiative to promote the knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths amongst young ones and adults.

I too feel that very little practical emphasis is given on these subjects in school. It is more theory and less practical currently, and it would definitely douse the fire in any young ones inventive mind.

Pn Naziah's family from Perak, together with me

Family comes to learn AutoCAD and 3D Printing all the way from Sri Iskandar, Perak.

Earlier this week, I had a chance to teach a large group of students and parents. We had a session in MDEC, courtesy of their STEM program.

Amongst my students was Pn Nor Naziah, who came from Sri Iskandar, Perak. It is a place I knew well, as I did my Engineering studies in the USM Engineering campus, while the Campus was still located in Tronoh, Perak, which is in the Sri Iskandar region. It is on the road between Ipoh to Lumut.

Part of the training session in MDEC - sShe is a teacher, and has true dedication to learning and expanding herself and her family. She brought her sister and her 3 children together with her to expose her family to a new knowledge.  She mentioned that she wanted to expose her children to as many fields as possible, so that they could eventually find one that they truly love, and then excel in it.

In the class, she also found out her children had talents which she didn’t know about previously. It was a good learning and discovery session for her and her family.

Kudos to her! Look forward to more teaching more students like her and her family!

Makers week in KL Oct 11 2014

Makers Week in KL this Oct 11th for a week!

The Maker’s week is finally here, yes!!! I love in all ways, the need to make and create things. Will be speaking in this event too, to highlight the educational uses of 3D Printing, and how it can help Education in Malaysia.

Here is an excerpt from the event website:

The Makers Week 2014

First of its kind—The Makers Week takes place on October 11th to 17th, 2014 in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The key speaking events will be in Bangsar, UOA Building.  The Makers Week 2014 focuses on 3D Printing to bring together industry experts, hobbyists and enthusiasts to educate and give awareness of 3D printing technology and how it is impacting our everyday lives.

During the week-long event of The Makers Week 2014, each day will specifically focus on an industry that 3D printing technology is profoundly impacting such education, healthcare, engineering, fashion, design, and more. In collaboration with our international and local partners, there will be live talks and showcases of actual 3D objects based on case studies, as well as hands-on workshops to demonstrate how 3D printers work and how to design in 3D.

I’ll be also speaking on Day 2 (Oct 12th, 2pm) – on 3D Printing and Education in Malaysia

Abirami, 10 year old, from Teluk Intan, Perak, is one of the earliest students of CAD Design School.  Her parents are very motivated teachers, and felt taking time away from their busy schedule to send their young daughter to self enrichment classes is worth their time and effort.

Here is Abirami, who is one of the youngest graduates of Level 1 (2D), Level 2 (3D) and Level 3 (Advanced 3D Modelling and 3D Printing).
