Being a Designer – Angie, Elegant Jewellery Studio
Angie was a banker, a qualified accounting software trainer, and an entrepreneur. Today, she is the Creative Director of Kelvin Gems and CEO of NG Jewel. She has travelled all over the world to learn from top notch designers, she has sourced for materials from the most common of pearls to Mexican opals and black diamonds, and she is highly regarded by many as one of the experts in the industry.
She has founded Elegant Jewellery Studio; a jewellery making academy in 2013, and has been living her dream since – sharing her passion and knowledge in jewellery making with her students.
She was recently crowned as one of the Top 50 Business Women for Asia Pacific 2014.
Being an Engineer – Vyasa, Cad Design Centre
Vyasa Kandasamy has been actively involved in the field of Computer Aided Design for more than 20 years. He has trained Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Chemical Engineers, Architects, Interior and Product Designers in places like the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), Selangor Human Resource Development Corporation (SHRDC) and numerous manufacturing and construction entities across Malaysia.
He founded CAD Design Centre, the first in Malaysia to bring Computer Aided Design (CAD) to children as young as 7 years old. The purpose – exposing and allowing them to develop their skills and talents in these areas early on. He uses the latest 3D Printing Technology, to inspire students to create real models on their own and learn in a fun-filled, exciting way.
His motto is “Let them have fun with technology while young – Why wait till they are much older, when they can start now!”
Being a Baker – Sue, Les Petit Chefs Sue is the founder of Les Petits Chefs. She has been in the baking industry for the past 4 years, supplying cakes to cafes and hotels. Les Petits Chefs, together with the sister company Simply Cookies Sdn Bhd, are the finalists of Berbudi Berganda and MyHarapan challenge, and runner ups of Hope Award. She was also featured in Focus Malaysia for helping single mothers improve their lives through baking. At Les Petits Chefs, they believe in learning through baking, where children absorb much better, learn much faster through the simple act of baking. They impart out-of-the-textbook knowledge while developing their right brain. The best way to learn is when children don’t feel that they’re learning, but when they’re having fun and enjoying themselves!
